Description:
The summer of 2007 will be remembered as one of the wettest summers ever in the UK - and 2008 hasn't been much better!!
Throughout June and July 2007 the vast majority of England got soaked and the worst hit places experienced severe flooding. Several people died, and thousands of people lost electricity and access to clean water while also seeing their homes become inundated by the floods.
In this 2-part lesson the students will:
- Learn a wide range of useful vocabulary for describing flooding.
- Watch 3 online video clips to see the impact the flooding had on various parts of the UK.
- Complete a wide range of activities leading up to writing an informative article on the impact of the floods on the UK.
